Our Story
Born on the Yard. Built for the Culture.
Since 1867 didn't start in a boardroom, it started on the Yard.
Our founder is a proud Howard University alum who carried the spirit of the Mecca long after graduation. The energy of Homecoming, the pride of wearing blue and white, the unspoken bond between every Bison who's ever walked that campus, that feeling never left. So instead of letting it fade, they built something around it.
Justin DeCambre, Class of 2025, launched Since 1867 with a simple belief: HBCU culture deserves to be celebrated with the same quality, craftsmanship, and intention that Howard instills in every student who walks through its gates.
Why "Since 1867"?
Howard University was founded in 1867 — a beacon of Black excellence, scholarship, and resilience. That year isn't just a number. It's a declaration. Every piece we create carries that legacy forward, designed for the students, alumni, and supporters who know exactly what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.
What We Make
From hand-bedazzled rhinestone crop tops to premium quarter-zips, every item is crafted with intention. We don't mass-produce. We don't cut corners. Each piece is made to order because you deserve something made for you — not just for anyone.
When you wear Since 1867, you're not just repping your school. You're carrying a movement.
For the Culture. Always.
A portion of every sale supports our mission to keep HBCU culture alive and thriving. Every preorder, every purchase, every share helps a small, HBCU-founded brand grow — and that matters.
Thank you for being part of this. We built this for you.
